The spirit of opposition, the spirit of antichrist, was present from the beginning.

 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? Genesis 3:1

 Satan challenges Eve  by saying “Yea, hath God Said?” Eve begins to doubt God and His authority, thus sin was conceived.

 Through disobedience, man fell from grace and God set a plan in motion to redeem him from his sinful state. That plan is still effectively working today but not without opposition from the evil one.

  Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) Romans 5:12-17

 Satan’s Agenda is to rob, kill and to destroy. His plan is also effectively working, because people today, Just as Eve did, are giving ear to Him.

 Have you noticed how Satan’s plan was in destroy, comes when God’s plan was in its infancy? I suppose in Satan’s evil mind, infancy denotes defenselessness or vulnerability. So he attacks hard and fast without warning, from the beginning, he seems to follow a pattern.

 Satan planted jealousy in the heart of Cain who killed his righteous brother Abel. But that did not change God’s plan and He raised up righteous Seth to carry on the righteous linage from which Jesus Christ would descend. God’s plan was still in motion regardless of the opposition from the devil.

 Satan is seen in Bethlehem opposing the birth of Jesus. He used Herod to kill all the male children two years old and under. The infant and his parents escaped to Egypt and God’s plan was still working.

 Surely Satan thought he had seen the end of Jesus as He was crucified. The devil was wrong again. He arose from the tomb as He said He would. The plan would not end here.

 After Jesus’ ascension, the Church in her infancy suffered torture and persecution. But praise God, instead of dying, she became stronger and the gospel was preached in every known country.

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Acts 20:28-30

 Satan’s jealousy mounted and 325 years after Christ ascended, the infant became covered over, for what was a small moment to God, she was about to rise up again! So 1578 years later in Murphy NC on June 13, 1903. The plan was still unfolding and taking shape. Praise God! The infant was alive!

 A few years ago down the road, the Church began to experience great opposition. As I write this, the Spirit of opposition is at work to try to destroy, rob and to, ultimately, kill. But praise be to God, failure is not the plan that God has for the Church! He overcame death, hell and the grave.

 From Eden to Bethlehem, From Bethlehem to Hattin, From Hattin to Murphy NC, From Murphy NC to the whole world God still has a plan.  

 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.  Matthew 16:18

 The infant babe in Bethlehem’s manger is become Lord of Lords and King of Kings! The infant that was birthed on the Horns of Hattin is become The Bride of Christ! Soon ALL opposition will be defeated, that too, is part of His plan!

 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.  Revelation 19:7
