EVIL HEART OF UNBELIEF
Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions. Ecclesiastes 7: 29
Man was made is he likeness and image of God. All that God had mad was good and well pleasing in His sight.
And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1: 31
Man was created so that we could walk upright and holy before the Lord. Yet Sin has polluted man and his thoughts and actions are evil and his inventions of evil there seem to be no end. We are seeing things today that 100 years ago would have been un-believed, yet man continue to sin against God, and his invention to do are without end. Sin came for mankind by the fall of man (Adam) but sin conceived in the un-believing heart of the woman (Eve). Eve believed the lie that Satan placed in front of her Genesis 3: 1-6
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
An unbelieving heart shall bring forth sin. This is a revelation of how man sins against God every day without the blood of Christ and the death of the “Old Man” through Sanctification.
But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1: 14-15
Eve was tempted by her own lust (v.6 “pleasant to the eyes, to be desire to make us wise) lust brought forth sin, and sin brought forth death to mankind.
The first sin Eve committed after believing a lie was betrayal. She betrayed the trust her husband had in her. How many have betrayed the trust that has been placed in them by family, church friends, and loved ones by a lie, that God hates. Many have believed a lie because of their heart of unbelief and desire for worldly wisdom but God holds every man accountable. I am sure you know what I am writing about, adultery, fornication, jewelry, worldly living, God’s Banner, the covenant, the exclusivity of the Church, Do I need to go own? God’s people have backed up on these because of an evil heart of unbelief.
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. Mark 7: 20-23
These scriptures tell us that an evil heart will manifest such things. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; Hebrews 3: 3-14.
Lord help us not to have an evil heart of un-belief. Help us to stand faithful on the old paths and to hold the Banner high for Christ and His Church.
The preacher in Ecclesiastes 12: 13-14 teaches us regarding this; Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Don’t be fooled, God is aware of His Church and His people. God is still seeking those that will serve Him and honor him in all things. “Will you be among the Bride or will you not?”
Our greatest enemy is an evil heart of un-belief. We must have faith in God and in His Word. God’s word is truth, and He can not lie. STAND FAST.
